Severe Weather in Florida and the Great Plains; Heavy Rainfall in Hawaii and the Gulf Coast

Scattered severe thunderstorms will continue over parts of the north-central Florida Peninsula and develop in the southern Great Plains. New daily record high temperatures are expected for portions of South Florida and southern Texas the next couple of days. Flash flooding is expected in Hawaii. High pressure approaching from the west will result in warm and dry conditions across the area. Winds will be northerly this afternoon, 10-15 mph gusting to 20 mph across northern Nevada and 15-20 mph gusting to 30 mph across central Nevada. Temperatures will be around 5 degrees above normal today, and 10 degrees above normal on Thursday.
